The honoured collective of the Republic of Belarus the Band of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus (hereinafter referred to as the Band) was created on 1 April 1950 as the Belarusian Military District Headquarters Band.

During 56 years of its existence the Band made the worthy contribution into development of the Belarusian musical art and strengthening friendly relations between nations. It works and cooperates with key composers, soloists and creative collectives of the Republic of Belarus and other states. Perfection of the Band was carried out along the way of expansion of opportunities for performance of new orchestral musical compositions of service, drill and concert repertoire, as well as enrichments of timbres and methods of playing instruments. Quality and number of performances have been improving from year to year, and one of the brightest forms of performance of the Band was platz-concert on the open air with solo, group and orchestral performance, appropriate to concert halls.

The result of high professionalism of musicians of the Band was an opportunity to take part in prestigious festivals of Europe since 1993: in the Great Britain and Ireland (London, Belfast, Dublin, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Limerick, Plymouth,); in Germany (Berlin, Bonn, Braunshweig, Hannover, Hamburg, Neumunster, Frankfurt-on-Main, Hildesheim), in France (Arras, Betune, Vale, Lile), in Poland (Krakow).

The repertoire of the Band consists of more than 500 compositions of key classical and contemporary composers. The Band constantly performs with concert programmes in the Central Officers' Club, garrison's and soldier's clubs. Music performed by the Band sounds on concert grounds of various cities throughout Belarus, on radio and TV.

The Band permanently participates in Minsk Garrison parades, celebratory processions and other socio-political, cultural and sports activities. Its service and concert actively promotes military, moral, cultural, and aesthetic education of the Armed Forces personnel.

Today the Band possesses the big creative opportunities, which are used in its daily activity to the maximum. The Band of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus successfully continues and develops the best traditions of professional musical art of the Republic of Belarus.
