Deputy Minister of Defence for Armament, Chief of Armament


    Ivan Dyrman was born in the Luninets Vicinity, Brest Region, Belarus on 8 April 1951.
    Having completed a three-year tank-technical course with the Kiev Armour School in 1971, he reported to the Belarusian Military District and served in a tank company as deputy commander for logistics.
    In 1973-1977, Ivan Dyrman studied at the engineering department of the Malinovsky Military Academy of Armoured Forces and continued his military service in the Far Eastern Military District in a motorised infantry regiment as deputy commander for logistics and then deputy commander for armament.
    In August 1982, he joined the senior engineering officers department of the Military Academy of Armoured Forces. After its completion Ivan Dyrman was appointed deputy commander for armament of a holding tank division with further promotions to chief of armour service in a combined arms division, deputy commander for armament of an army corps (Transbaikal Military District), chief of armour service in a combined arms army (Belarusian Military District, later transformed into Belarus Armed Forces), deputy commander for armament of a tank army and an army corps and then chief of armament staff, first deputy chief of armament, Belarusian Armed Forces.
    On 19 February 2004, Ivan Dyrman was appointed Deputy Minister of Defence for Armament, Chief of Armament, following a relevant President's decree.
